Supplemental Narrative

Additional Explanations

Part III Program Accomplishments

Christian New Creation Inc (CNC) put on hold the 5-year plan for construction on the Isaiah Campus and expansion program with the death of Ray Solcher, our Chairman of the Board. We continued the process of expanding the current facilities from 40 to 51. This is the near maximum that both properties can hold pursuant to current City of Houston regulations. We served 329 men during 2023, an increase of 154 men. With this increase, we had an occupancy load of over 95% for the year, with 90% of the residents employed at the time of their completion in the program. With the continuing of our family reunification program, one that brings together the men with their moms and dads, wives, brothers and sisters and their children, we have seen the risks of addiction drop on many fronts and shorted stays with us. We have been very blessed with the re-shuffling and increasing the available bed count. We have bene able to partner with a new temp agency called New Horizons. This partnership started in November and is working out to be a long-term employer. The pay rate for these jobs is about 20% higher than our other current relationships and will help in using the clients' skills at a higher level. Nailor Industries is a great partner, and we see them as a powerhouse for CNC as we move forward. The toolbox program has been an on-going growth to our program and is expanding the reach for the men to grow in the marketplace. They understand that this will help them as they continue their education and learned skills in the workplace. Our involvement of volunteers and hands on working and support of the Christian community, and the ethical background training that is being delivered to our clients is hands down a needed tool to survive in today's social environment. CNC has been blessed to have a very caring and active Board of Directors in addition to a strong team of volunteer mentors to help our Residents transition, which is extremely evident in our growth and low recidivism rate of less than 5%. Christian New Creation has partnered with local national chains of grocers, and this has held down the cost of supporting these men. The savings are passed on to the men as they can save more of their income and help their families as needed. Food that cannot be used or stored for CNC's use is then donated out to other nonprofits as well as local neighbors. CNC takes care to provide Gift in Kind accounting, using the Salvation Army Donation Guide to value the gifts. During this year CNC also put a new roof on Isaiah House that was strengthened to withstand Hurricanes, and also installed and strengthened the second floor for expanded living and common usage space.

Part III Program Accomplishments

Christian New Creation is blessed to have a very active Board of Directors in addition to a strong team of volunteer mentors to help our Residents transition. Our 15 most active volunteers in 2023 logged over 6,000 hours of service to CNC, which is extremely evident in our growth and low recidivism rate of less than 5 percent.

Part V Other Information

CNC receives a significant contribution of donated food from local grocery stores and warehouses. Food that cannot be used or stored for CNC use is then donated out to other nonprofits as well as local neighbors. CNC takes care to provide Gift in Kind accounting, using the Salvation Army Donation Guide to value the gifts.

Part V Other Information

CNC receives tremendous donations of used clothing from individuals, churches, other nonprofit organizations, and retailers. CNC opened up a thrift store called ReRack Restore to sell the clothing the Resident's can't use to the local population.

Part X

There was a prior period adjust of $51,487 due to differences from the previous accounting firm for 2022.

IRS990/Desc0Christian New Creation, Inc contributes to society by equipping and training former offenders in how to reintegrate into society and back within their families. This can be shown by the less than 5 percent recidivism rate for our Residents, versus the State of Texas rate of 21 percent. Our Residents find jobs, housing, attending religious services and learn how to function successfully in society.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt2Financials are reviewed monthly during meetings and all raises are voted on by the board beforehand.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt3Compensation is conservative and in line with other transitional living facilities in the area.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt4All policies for the board are available on our shared cloud drive for board access and are available to the public upon request.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt5Christian New Creation Inc (CNC) put on hold the 5-year plan for construction on the Isaiah Campus and expansion program with the death of Ray Solcher, our Chairman of the Board.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt6Christian New Creation is blessed to have a very active Board of Directors in addition to a strong team of volunteer mentors to help our Residents transition. Our 15 most active volunteers in 2023 logged over 6,000 hours of service to CNC, which is extremely evident in our growth and low recidivism rate of less than 5 percent.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt7CNC receives a significant contribution of donated food from local grocery stores and warehouses. Food that cannot be used or stored for CNC use is then donated out to other nonprofits as well as local neighbors. CNC takes care to provide Gift in Kind accounting, using the Salvation Army Donation Guide to value the gifts.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt8CNC receives tremendous donations of used clothing from individuals, churches, other nonprofit organizations, and retailers. CNC opened up a thrift store called ReRack Restore to sell the clothing the Resident's can't use to the local population.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt9There was a prior period adjust of $51,487 due to differences from the previous accounting firm for 2022.
