Mission and Program Overview

Mission

To bring the transforming experience of dance to at-risk and underserved youth by encouraging them to explore their unique abilities. To foster the self-esteem that is critical to developing resilient children. To provide a healthy supportive and creative environment for young dancers.

We provide a nurturing and comprehensive training program and we provide full and partial scholarships for families who struggle financially to pay for training. We also offer trade opportunities to lessen the financial burden. Trade families offer to volunteer specialized services such as costuming, or custodial services, in exchange for reduced tuition. We feel it is important to offer trade opportunities to those who are willing to help the organization in appropriate ways. In 2023 we provided $16,147 in scholarships and $32,987 in trade. We also offered 5 performing opportunities: "The Tales and Tails of Dr. Dolittle" was presented at the O'Shaughnessy auditorium, and we served over 1100 students from disadvantaged schools to see the show for free, and we live streamed the show for over 3000 people world wide, catering to juvenile detention centers, nursing homes, schools that were unable to afford the busing to see the show live, and other communities of need.

Additional Explanations

Part I, Line 10

We provide a nurturing and comprehensive training program and we provide full and partial scholarships for families who struggle financially to pay for training. We also offer trade opportunities to lessen the financial burden. Trade families offer to volunteer specialized services such as costuming, or custodial services, in exchange for reduced tuition. We feel it is important to offer trade opportunities to those who are willing to help the organization in appropriate ways. In 2023 we provided $16,147 in scholarships and $32,987 in trade. We also offered 5 performing opportunities: "The Tales and Tails of Dr. Dolittle" was presented at the O'Shaughnessy auditorium, and we served over 1100 students from disadvantaged schools to see the show for free, and we live streamed the show for over 3000 people world wide, catering to juvenile detention centers, nursing homes, schools that were unable to afford the busing to see the show live, and other communities such as mental health facilities. The other performances included: Our annual Performing Arts Ensemble show, held at Luminary Arts Center, that features student choreography, our Branches Contemporary Company held their own performance at the Southern Theater, our annual student showcase, held at Como Lakeside Pavilion, for all of our student body, our summer production, held at Como Lakeside Pavilion, includes both students and company members, and our PAE Nutcracker performances held at various venues during December, and finally, our Holiday show held at the North Garden Theater, which was for all of our student body.

Part I, Line 16

Expenses included: Quick Books, Merchant bank fees, Zoom, production supplies, costumes, custodial supplies, credit card purchases (all for production or custodial expenses), website hosting fees, office supplies, WiFi services, insurance, ticket service fees, Drop Box, music licensing fees, custodial fees, tax forms.

Part II, Line 26

We had an difficult year in that our student base was significantly lower than previous years. We are working diligently to increase these numbers through marketing via social media and word of mouth.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0We provide a nurturing and comprehensive training program and we provide full and partial scholarships for families who struggle financially to pay for training.
