- Education and policy programs:envision minnesota provides local, regional, and statewide initiatives aimed to raise the level of discussion around minnesota on issues of growth and development while advocating for policies that promote coordinated land use, transportation, and housing options and conservation of natural resources. Our goal is to engage citizens and policymakers to chart a bright future for minnesota with quality communities, sustainable economic vitality, and a healthy environment. We use communication tools, civic engagement opportunities, and large messaging strategies to assert a vision for long-term prosperity in which minnesota and its communities develop in ways that retain our character and sustain the health of our citizens.

WE CONDUCT THESE ACTIVITIES THROUGH THE JOINT EFFORTS OF OUR PROGRAM STAFF AND DEVELOPMENT TEAM. OUR EFFORTS INCLUDE CONDUCTING AN ANNUAL DONATIONS/MEMBERSHIP APPEAL EACH FALL, PROGRAM STAFF PARTICIPATION IN WORKING GROUPS WITH OTHER PUBLIC CHARITIES, GOVERNMENT UNITS AND CITIZENS AND AN ONGOING DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM SEEKING APPROPRIATE FUNDING SOURCES FOR OUR PROGRAM EFFORTS. WE ARE GOVERNED BY AN INDEPENDENT BOARD OF DIRECTORS WHO SUPPORT AND GUIDE THE ENVISION MINNESOTA STAFF AND PROGRAMS.IN 2011, ENVISION MINNESOTA CONTINUED THE POSITIVE IMPACT OF OUR CONSERVATION DESIGN PROGRAM THROUGH PARTICIPATING IN A HUD FUNDED PROGRAM SUPPORTING SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS IN OUTSTATE MINNESOTA. WE ALSO RECEIVED FUNDS FROM SEVERAL FOUNDATIONS TO SUPPORT BOTH GENERAL OPERATIONS AND A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS WHICH SERVE OUR MISSION OF ADDRESSING CONNECTIONS BETWEEN OUR DEVELOPMENT PATTERNS AND THE HEALTH OF OUR COMMUNITIES, CITIZENS AND THE ENVIRONMENT. OUR PROGRAMS ENGAGE COMMUNITY AND INDIVIDUAL CITIZEN PARTICIPATION THROUGH MULTI-MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMS.THROUGH A COMBINATION OF OUR PROGRAM ACTIVITIES, NEWSLETTERS, EDUCATION MATERIALS AND A USER FRIENDLY DONATIONS/MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM, OUR SUPPORT FROM INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTIONS IN THE $1 TO $499 RANGE HAS INCREASED SUBSTANTIALLY OVER THE PAST FOUR YEARS. WITH A BASE MEMBERSHIP RATE OF $35 PER YEAR, OUR ORGANIZATION WELCOMES AND ENCOURAGES INDIVIDUAL CITIZEN INVOLVEMENT AND SUPPORT. |
