Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 28

The organization sponsors and runs a wide range of youth sports programs throughout the year. There were multiple football teams participating in the program. These programs are used to teach kids of all ages good sportsmanship, teamwork, and self-discipline in a safe environment. More than 200 youth from several neighborhood areas participate with over 100 police officers donating time. These programs are free for kids to participate and all equipment and facilities are provided by the organization or partnering organizations.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 29

The minneapolis police activities league organizes community events with the goal of developing and nurturing strong communities and relationships between police officers, children and families. They co-organized the battle of the badges: a cookout with the minneapolis fire department to advertise the organization, with live entertainment and donated refreshments. They also take part in shop with a cop, where young children can go shopping for holiday gifts with a local police officer.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 30

The organization sponsors multiple non-athletic programs throughout the year as well. Brain and body camp is a summer program for children ages 6- 16 to discuss nutrition, exercise, gang resistance education, and take field trips. Girls aged 10-17 and boys 10-13 can participate in one of three mentorship programs aimed at empowering, motivating and encouraging young women of diverse backgrounds, and enrolling the ladies in new adventures they have never had the chance to be involved in.
