Activity 2

Public Education The Neuro Film Festival is an annual contest hosted by the Foundation to help raise awareness through video about brain disorders and the need to support research into preventions, treatments, and cures. The 2012 Neuro Film Festival generated 100 entries and more than 100,000 hits on YouTube. Winning filmmakers receive a cash prize and trip to the Annual Meeting where their work is featured. Submitted films are used to create public service announcements about brain disease and the need for cures. The Brain Health Fair, sponsored by the American Brain Foundation, was held at the 2012 Annual Meeting in New Orleans. This free, daylong family event connected 1,500 patients, families, and caregivers affected by a neurologic disorder with important resources to win the battle against brain disease. People attended free classes to learn from some of the best and brightest neurologists in the world about the latest research advances in Alzheimer's, autism, brain injury, epilepsy, headache, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, sleep disorders, stroke, and other types of brain disease. The Exhibit Hall offered fun activities for kids and teens, and giveaways.

Activity 3

The Corporate Roundtable The Corporate Roundtable (CRT) was created several years ago to establish a relationship between the American Academy of Neurology, American Brain Foundation, and industry. The CRT is an American Brain Foundation-sponsored membership organization of companies that are committed to working together with the neurological community to meet the American Brain Foundation goals to stimulate broad-based support to improve quality of care and quality of life for people with neurological disease; promote research and public education in the neurosciences; and advance public understanding of disorders of the brain.
