OUR FUNDRAISING ALLOWED US TO CONTRIBUTE TO FIELD TRIP EXPENSES FOR ALL STUDENTS, PROVIDE CLASSROOM FUNDS FOR TEACHERS AND OTHER STAFF, TECHNOLOGY SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR THE MEDIA DEPARTMENT, AND NEW INSTRUMENTS IN THE MUSIC DEPARTMENT. THIS YEAR WE ALSO PURCHASED A SUBSTANTIAL NUMBER OF BOOKS FOR THE LIBRARY. FOR SPECIFIC GRADE LEVEL PROGRAMS, WE SUPPORTED PROGRAMS IN CONJUNCTION WITH COMPAS (AN ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM) AND THE MINNEAPOLIS INSTITUTE OF ARTS. WE ALSO PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO OUR SCHOOL'S 5TH GRADE CELEBRATION, WHICH IS A GRADUATION. WE KNOW THAT NOT ALL STUDENTS GET THE SAME SUPPORT AND CELEBRATION AT HOME AND WANT THEM TO BE ABLE TO CELEBRATE THE MILESTONE OF MOVING ON TO MIDDLE SCHOOL WITH THEIR SCHOOL COMMUNITY. OUR FUNDRAISERS ALSO SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS IN VARIOUS WAYS. OUR BIGGEST FUNDRAISER, APEX, BRINGS IN THEIR TEAM TO GO TO CLASSROOMS AND GIVE LESSONS AND SUPPORT ON MOTIVATIONAL MESSAGES SUCH AS RESILIENCE AND TEAMWORK. AT OUR BOOKFAIR WE TRY TO GET A BOOK INTO THE HANDS OF TO ALL STUDENTS AT THE SCHOOL, AND OUT TEACHERS BENEFIT FROM CREDITS FROM THE SALE PROFITS THAT THEY CAN USE TO BUY BOOKS AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES. OUR SKATETIME FUNDRAISER SUPPORTS A ROLLER SKATING UNIT IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASS FOR ALL GRADE LEVELS. IN THE SPRING, OUR SCHOOL CHOIR SINGS AT A MINNESOTA TWINS EVENT AND FAMILIES CAN ENJOY OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY BY ATTENDING THE EVENT TOGETHER. OUR COMMUNITY NIGHTS FUNDRAISERS ARE EVENTS AT LOCAL RESTAURANTS THAT DONATE A PORTION OF PROFITS TO THE SCHOOL BUT ARE ALSO A FUN WAY TO SEE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL. “In 2022-2023 we supported the children and school community at bailey elementary in various ways. We prioritize spending and support for the entire school community, and secondarily grade level spending. Lastly, an important part of supporting our school community is teacher appreciation so everyone can feel valued and supported.”
