“A PDF of Form 990, with the donor information on Schedule B redacted, will be downloaded into the organization's online filing system -the Drop Box-which requires a password and authority to access. An email will be sent to each board member with a link to the document in the Drop Box. At the regularly scheduled board meeting in September, the board will approve the submission of the 990 to the IRS. Board approval of the submission to the IRS will be noted in the minutes of the meeting. Donor names on Schedule B will be erased, as the donors wish to remain anonymous.”

“Before the first board meeting of each fiscal year, each board member is given a Conflict-of-Interest form. Each board member then declares whether he/she has any conflicts of interest. If none, the board member designates by writing "None." If there is a potential conflict of interest, the board member declares the nature and extent of that conflict. The board member will recuse themselves from any vote where a conflict of interest exists. Before each board meeting, the board chair asks if there are any potential conflicts of interest for the agenda items for that board meeting.”

“Each year the board chair distributes a written questionnaire to the board members to evaluate the performance of the Program Director. The board chair then reviews this input with the Program Director and meets with the treasurer to determine whether to give the Program Director a raise and the amount of the raise. The recommendation is voted on by the board members at a regularly scheduled board meeting. The Program Director evaluates the performance of the two part-time Program Coordinators and, in consultation with the treasurer and board chair recommends raises, if any, which the board votes on at a regularly scheduled board meeting. Changes in compensation are reflected in the upcoming annual budget. Increases are effective with the start of the next fiscal year. The review of the program director was completed in April 2025. At the regularly scheduled board meeting in May 2025, a raise of 4% effective 7/1/2025 was approved. A bonus was approved and paid to staff, including the program director, in June 2025.”

The annual report, which summarizes the finances of our organization, is available on the organization's website in the Reports and News page. The same website page contains links to the past seven years Form 990 and fiscal year-end financial statements, along with the Original Incorporation document from 1989.”

“In November 2024 St Anthony Park Area Seniors hosted a workshop funded by a supplementary DHS grant designed to give us ideas on generating new activities and services for underserved populations. It was attended by staff, board members, clients and small business owners. Part of the DHS grant also enabled our handyman to install free handrails and grab bars in seniors' homes and apartments. We started a new exercise program called Pound Fit and launched an activity called Equal Portions, whereby we host a monthly luncheon accompanied by a musical performance or informational presentation.”

“Our organization arranges foot care and handyman services for seniors. The providers of these services are independent contractors. We collect fees for these services and pay the contractor.”
