“The Association has the following classes of membership: General, Sustaining, Platinum, Platinum Plus, Associate and Sustaining Associate Members.”

“The Board of Directors is elected by the membership.”

“Each General, Sustaining, Platinum and Platinum Plus Member shall have full right to participate in all discussions of the Association and to vote on all matters considered by the Association at special meetings or at the Annual Business Meeting. Each General, Sustaining, Platinum and Platinum Plus Member shall have one vote. Each Associate and Sustaining Associate Member shall have full right to participate in all of the discussions of the Association. Only those Associate and Sustaining Associate members elected in to the Board in accordance with the bylaws are allowed to vote on matters considered by the Association at special meetings or at the Annual Business Meeting.”

“The 990 is reviewed by the Executive Director in conjuction with the organization's outsourced accounting services provider. A copy of the form 990 is provided to the organization's Executive Committee before it is filed.”

“NADO has a conflict of interest policy for board members and staff. If there is a perceived conflict of interest, the individual must disclose it and remove themselves from decision making process. The Executive Director and the Executive Committee monitor these issues as closely as possible.”

“The Executive Committee approves the salary of the Executive Director in accordance with a pay and classification plan undertaken by a compensation consultant. An update to this pay and classification plan was completed in 2015.”

“The governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements are made available for public inspection (upon request) during normal business hours.”

“To provide a structure under which regional development organizations may work together in cooperation with state and federal government officials in devising and implementing effective policies and programs whose principal objectives are to improve regional economies, strengthen local governments, and improve both the quality of life and the access to economic opportunity for all citizens.”

National Regional Transportation Conference- This annual event provides peer-to-peer learning for regional transportation planners, state DOT representatives, and their local and private sector partners. The conference provides training and networking opportunities on a variety of rural and small metropolitan transportation topics. With hands-on workshops, best practice panels, and facilitated networking sessions that feature peer trainers and expert speakers, the conference offers training for organizations and individuals just beginning to work in transportation, as well as those with more experience.”
