“As part of our mission is to interpret and educate our residents and visitors about waseca county history, we present several exhibits every year. In 2015 we completed an ambitious permanent exhibit on the ada compliant balcony: "where the big woods meet the prairie, a timeline of unique stories from waseca county." museum visitor numbers increased significantly with promotion to high school and family reunion groups, as well as to tourists. In 2016 the exhibit received a history program award from the minnesota alliance of local history museums.”

Retrieving the collection's stories and information, and bringing them to the community with meaning and respect is certainly part of our mission. Everything is accessible via our searchable website. We have completed the process of bringing our collection of key artifacts representing the essential history of Waseca County in the form of a Timeline on our balcony level of the museum. The Timeline exhibit will be part of new programming and expanded hours for family visits to the museum. In addition to the permanent collection, we mount about two temporary exhibitions every year, and a holiday open house exhibit. |
