Aging services - the neighborhood model has resulted in changes to the way care is provided in the long term care facility. More choices from the resident on schedules, activities and dining experiences has resulted in some remodeling and modified staffing patterns. Care transitions offers individuals a place for recovery and rehab following an illness, injury or surgery.

Activity 3

Clinic addition - during fiscal year 2013, a physician office building was completed that added 40 clinic rooms, lab and imaging space. The singular location for avera medical group specialty physicians to offer their services has enhanced the patient experience and created a welcome, private environment for people needing physician services. Avera marshall expanded into family practice coverage during this year. At the conclusion of fiscal 2013 avera marshall has 7 family practice providers. The explosion of growth seen within family practice created a need for additional clinic space. In august 2013, the family practice providers moved to a new location within the hospital campus. Avera marshall also prepared to open a family practice clinic in ivanhoe, mn scheduled to open in july 2013 with another family practice clinic expected to be open in redwood falls later in 2013.podiatry services began in september 2012. A medical weight loss program began in january 2013. Palliative medicine became a certified program in january 2013.lasik and istent services were added to the wide range of optometry and ophthalmology services already available within marshall and four other communities.outreach - avera marshall provides outreach locations for general surgery, ob/gyn, orthopedics and ophthalmology increasing access in local communities by bringing the specialist to people and making it convenient for those who need care. This is especially important for the elderly populations who have concerns about travel or physical limitations. At the conclusion of fiscal year 2013 avera marshall was making preparations to add an ent and cardiology outreach services in marshall.
