Activity 2

Mental health services:spectrum community mental health helped 2,307 adults with a serious mental illness to live successfully in the community. Spectrum provided supportive housing services to 747 individuals. Ninety-three percent of those served maintained housing for at least one year. Because people with a serious mental illness die on average 25 years younger than the general population, spectrum increased its emphasis on health and wellness services. Ninety-six percent of the 1,263 individuals who received case management services either had-or were referred to-a primary source of medical care. For more information, see: www.resource-mn.org.

Activity 3

Chemical dependency services: recovery resource center (rrc) assisted 1,307 individuals grappling with chemical-dependency problems-most of whom had a history of relapse. (rrc clients have an average of six prior treatments before coming to rrc.) sixty-four percent of all rrc clients achieved sobriety and were successfully discharged from services-an impressive result for a program serving people with a history of relapse. Rrc's family services and staff training in evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing were expanded. Rrc's initiation of rule 25 chemical dependency assessments resulted in 934 individuals accessing treatment. For more information, see: www.resource-mn.org.
