Activity 2

Wilder research:working at the local, state, and national levels, wilder research helps organizations identify emerging community trends, measure program effectiveness; and increase public awareness of issues. In fiscal year 2013, wilder research served 170 organizations, produced 180 reports, and shared 109 publications online.

Activity 3

Leadership and community building:major issues facing our community cannot be solved alone. Through leadership programs, community initiatives, public policy, convening and volunteerism, wilder center for communities brings people together. These community-led efforts provide an authentic voice that influences institutions, nonprofits, policymakers and government to be effective and responsive. In 2013, the skills and effectiveness of 417 nonprofit and community leaders were developed through the james p. Shannon leadership institute, the neighborhood leadership program and the youth leadership initiative. The saint paul promise neighborhood, an education initiative for 7,000 children living in the frogtown and summit-university areas, engaged 236 people and 72 partner organizations to serve 1,857 people through schools, family resource centers, parent classes and summer school.in 2013, volunteers contributed 37,791 hours of time to a wide range of programs and activities. Volunteers helped at wilder's child development center, at the center for aging, in the child guidance clinic and with wilder research. These hours reflect the valuable time and help of 608 individuals, 743 individuals in groups and 400 homeless study volunteers.
