Form 990, Part VI, Line 15A & 15B PROCESS FOR DETERMINING COMPENSATION

The process for determining compensation of the organization's ceo, executive director, or top management official, as well as that of any other officers or senior executives (if any), is directed by a related organization. The related organization's board committee responsible for compensation oversees the process, utilizing independent delegees within the organization as appropriate, depending on the role. In some cases, the process may utilize comparability data and analysis from a national third-party compensation firm; or, if more appropriate for the role, it may instead utilize other applicable sources of market comparability data as needed to verify reasonableness. The process also includes contemporaneous substantiation of the analysis and decision regarding the compensation arrangement. Compensation is reviewed at least annually and the process is administered to assure independence, avoid conflicts of interest, ensure reasonableness and market comparability of total compensation, and to otherwise abide by pertinent laws and regulations.

Schedule D, Part V, Line 1F ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSES

During fy 2023, an internal audit was performed on the endowment funds and it was determined that many funds had been previously reported on the form 990 as endowments that should not have been. For this reason, schedule d, part v, line 1f shows administrative expenses of $11,114,073, of which is really to adjust the balance of the endowment funds to actual. These were not true expenses.

Schedule D, Part V, Line 4 Intended uses of endowment funds

Ascension wisconsin foundation, inc.'s endowment funds consist of donor-restricted funds established to benefit the foundation for a variety of purposes. The endowment funds are intended to provide an annual income stream to be used in fulfilling the foundation's missions. The annual income is distributed at the discretion of the board of directors in accordance with the established spending policy.

The system accounts for uncertainty in income tax positions by applying a recognition threshold and measurement attribute for financial statement recognition and measurement of a tax position taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. ASCENSION IS A FAITH-BASED HEALTHCARE ORGANIZATION THAT DELIVERS PERSONALIZED, COMPASSIONATE CARE TO ALL, ESPECIALLY TO THOSE WHO NEED IT THE MOST. ASCENSION WISCONSIN IS PREVENTING CANCER BEFORE IT HAPPENS THROUGH THE RECENT LAUNCH OF THE CANCER PREVENTION AND WELLNESS PROGRAM, THE FIRST OF ITS KIND IN THE STATE. THIS PROGRAM IS MADE POSSIBLE BY RISE AGAINST CANCER, A CAMPAIGN LED BY ASCENSION FOUNDATIONS OF WISCONSIN. WE SUPPORTED LOCAL CANCER CARE IN OUR ASCENSION FOX VALLEY, MILWAUKEE AND RACINE REGIONS. THE CANCER PREVENTION AND WELLNESS PROGRAM SAVES LIVES. AFTER HIGH-RISK PATIENTS ARE IDENTIFIED AND REFERRED TO THE PROGRAM, THEY WORK WITH A HIGHLY-SKILLED TEAM OF ASCENSION WISCONSIN PROVIDERS TO DEVELOP A CARE PLAN CONSISTING OF TARGETED SCREENINGS, TESTING, LIFESTYLE CHANGES AND FOLLOW-UP CARE. ACCORDING TO THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION, UP TO 50% OF CANCERS ARE PREVENTABLE. OUR CARE TEAM MEETS WITH HIGH-RISK INDIVIDUALS TO HELP PREVENT CANCER, PROVIDE EARLY DETECTION AND TREATMENT, AND REDUCE THE BURDEN OF CANCER IN OUR COMMUNITIES. RISE AGAINST CANCER SUPPORTS THE CANCER PREVENTION AND WELLNESS PROGRAM AT A LOCAL LEVEL, PROVIDING THE KIND OF CARE WE WANT FOR THOSE CLOSE TO US AND KEEPING THEM HEALTHY IN THEIR FIGHT AGAINST CANCER. THE KIND OF CARE WE ALL DESERVE. DONOR SUPPORT IS INTEGRAL TO DEVELOPING AND SUPPORTING THIS PROGRAM ACROSS ASCENSION WISCONSIN.
