“Nami is a 3-tiered member-based affiliate organization - nami (national), nami wi (state affiliate), local affiliates. The bylaws and procedures are recommended by the national nami which has final approval of said documents; nami wi is responsible for assisting the affiliates & ensuring compliance.”

“The board of directors review and approve audit provided by a different cpa firm. The 990 is completed by a cpa firm and is reviewed and approved by board of directors. Once approved and submitted 990 is listed on our website as public record.”

Board executive committee along with executive director review if a conflict is material to the organization. The person could be asked to recuse themselves on voting, limit committee participation.”

“Nami wisconsin provides program trainings for family and peer to support recovery, education and advocacy. Support given also provided by referal support calls and emails. We host an annual conference, awareness events including mental illness awareness month, mental illness awareness week, minority awarenes month and suicide awareness month. Outreach includes bimonthly iris newsletter, website and social media maintenance, presentations and tabling at conferences and events. Support to local affiliates through tranings and affiliate technical support. Youth programming through raise your voice clubs and in school presentations. Crisis intervention training which provides education to law enforcement and correctional officers on how to respond to those in a mental health crisis. Nami wisconsin is providing administrative coordination to bring together a coalition of mental health advocates, providers, peers, and families called mental health action partnership (mhap).”
