IRS990/Desc0Supporting Seniors: We support seniors and adults with disabilities through a network of intergenerational volunteers. We match trained, screened community volunteers to address the needs of seniors (age 60+) and adults (age 18+) with disabilities who do not qualify for government entitlement programs, but lack the personal or financial resources to access services that help them manage their nutrition, healthcare, and home safety. All services, including transportation to healthcare appointments, food pantries and grocery stores, and other self-sufficiency appointments (social security, legal, for example) are offered at no charge to help clients who have fixed incomes. Providing services at no charge helps clients to better manage their rising expenses of housing, healthcare and copays, nutrition, and utilities on a fixed income.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0Engaging Seniors: Our mission is to engage and support Waukesha County seniors in living meaningful lives. Our agency is recognized in Waukesha County as the leading nonprofit agency in efforts and programs involving people age 55 years and older. We maintain partnerships with school districts, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations to identify local needs, and develop high-impact, meaningful service opportunities for seniors. Annually our agency places 330 retired and senior-age volunteers in three school districts to provide one on one tutoring, small group activities, and classroom support in public schools. We measure the impact of this work through pre-tests and post-tests of students who are impacted by the volunteers efforts, with the districts providing the data to show the gains made in math, reading, writing, and critical thinking. Service activities include tutoring school children, helping with math, assisting in classrooms, serving as pen pals. Seniors support other nonprofit agencies through serving as program assistants, volunteer drivers, delivering meals to homebound individuals, serving on boards of directors, and helping at fundraiser and educational events.
