Supplemental Narrative

Additional Explanations

Form 990, Part III, Line 2

Mount mary launched a ph.d. Program in counselor education and supervision. This program will serve the counseling community by educating master's -level professionals capable of academic teaching at the university level and professional work in clinical settings. The program, which began in fall of 2021, is open to licensed professional counselors, school counselors, rehabilitation counselors and other master's -level mental health professionals. It is the only ph.d. Of its kind in the metro milwaukee area and only one of the three in the state. Another program is the prof entry doctorate (otd). The first students declared this path in march 2021 with their first courses beginning summer 2021. Occupational therapy has two professional entry tracks that serve as preparation for initial certification as an occupational therapist. Once admitted to the professional entry program, students engage in learning opportunities designed to assist them in determining a 'best fit' for either the msot or otd track. Students declare their decision in the second semester in the program and follow the declared track to degree completion. The otd track is a doctoral program in which students complete 21 months at mount mary university focusing on professional skills and then participate in a university-arranged fieldwork experience for six months, putting their knowledge into practice. Following fieldwork, students complete a one-month culminating fieldwork project, followed by 5 months of studies which include a doctoral capstone experience and doctoral capstone project, concluding the 33 months, 93 credit program. Mount mary's new four-year, 120-credit degree program is designed for students to study at mount mary and complete in four years. Nursing coursework takes place in our new, state-of-the-art 6,500 square-foot health sciences center, nursing skills lab and interprofessional simulation lab. Clinical rotations take place at partner facilities located in greater milwaukee and southeast wisconsin. Small class sizes, supportive peers and an inquiry-based classroom environment. We have clinical partners at top health care facilities in southeastern wisconsin, including children's wisconsin, froedtert, advocate aurora, ascension, at prohealth care, milwaukee catholic home, and clement manor. Four-year program students will be able to manageably complete their nursing training with an average of 15 credits per semester.
