“The association has members from wi with the right to participate in the organization's governance. The members of the association consist of six classes: (1) member boards, (2) board members, (3) individual members, (4) institute affiliate members, (5) affiliate members, (6) honorary members. Board members and individual members shall be active members of the association.”

“The statewide company directors and the regional company directors are chosen by the company as defined in the organization's by-laws. The regional representative directors are chosen by the nominating committee. The nominating committee also confirms that an individual is actively seeking or holding a nar leadership team position or a nar regional vice president position. The regional representative, nar leadership team position and nar regional vice president position are approved/elected by the board of directors. The past chairman of the board (or past president director) (2) are selected by the past chairman council. The at-large directors are chosen by the chairman.”

“Amendments to these bylaws affecting the admission or qualification of active members and institute affiliate members, the use of the terms realtor or realtors or any alteration in the territorial jurisdiction of the member board shall become effective upon the approval of the board of directors of the national association of realtors. When bylaws amendments are mandated by national association of realtors policy, these bylaws may be automatically amended to reflect the mandate as of the effective date of the mandatory policy authorized by national association of realtors. The wra shall provide notice of that change in a regular or special membership communication.”

“The officers, executive committee, and board of directors review the audited financial statements. Management, including the president, review the 990 before it is filed with the internal revenue service. Management emails the 990 to the board of directors and they are given 5 days to review the form before it is filed with the irs.”

“Annually, all the members of certain committees and the board, including officers, are required to sign a form to disclose all conflicts of interest. The signed forms are kept at the association's office. In addition, at the beginning of each meeting the chairman asks the members if they have any conflicts with items on the proposed agenda.”

“Results of the local area trade association salary survey are used (the survey is conducted periodically). Periodically, additional salary information sources are also consulted such as the american society of association executives (asae), the wisconsin society of association executives (wsae) and the national association of realtors (nar). Officers review and approve all staff salaries (as an aggregate and not individually) as part of the budget process not in separate action/review. The president's salary, performance and contract are reviewed separately by the officers biannually.”
