THE BYLAWS WERE AMENDED AS FOLLOWS: 1) TO INCREASE THE VOTING RIGHTS OF PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT, RETIRED PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT AND LIFE PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT FROM ONE HALF VOTE TO ONE FULL VOTE AT THE CHAPTER AND DISTRICT LEVEL. 2) TO ADD THE PTA CAUCUS REPRESENTATIVE AS A VOTING MEMBER OF THE BOARD. 3) TO CHANGE THE CHIEF DELEGATE'S TERM FROM THREE YEARS TO TWO YEARS. 4) TO REMOVE THE PAST PRESIDENT AS AN OFFICER AND DIRECTOR POSITION. 5) TO EXPAND THE FINANCE COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP FROM THE PRESIDENT, VICE-PRESIDENT, SECRETARY AND TREASURER TO THE PRESIDENT, VICE PRESIDENT, TREASURER AND TWO MEMBERS APPOINTED BY THE MPTA BOARD OF DIRECTORS. 6) TO ALLOW NOMINATIONS FROM THE MEMBERSHIP DURING THE ELECTION PROCESS. 7) TO REQUIRE A MINIMUM RETURN OF FIVE PERCENT OF TOTAL BALLOTS OR 100 BALLOTS RETURNED, WHICHEVER IS LEAST, TO HAVE A VALID ELECTION. 8) TO REQUIRE A MINIMUM OF TWO DISTRICT OFFICERS. 9) to require all bylaws amendments to be approved by the membership. Previously, When APTA's bylaws had been amended so as to require amendment of the Chapter bylaws, the Bylaws only needed to be approved by the chapter board of directors. 10) to remove the provision requiring a two thirds affirmative vote by the responding membership to amend the bylaws. all bylaws amendments must be approved by the membership, but no ratio of affirmative votes is specified. 11) TO REQUIRE A MINIMUM RETURN OF FIVE PERCENT OF TOTAL BYLAWS BALLOTS OR 100 BYLAWS BALLOTS, WHICHEVER IS LEAST, TO REVISE THE BYLAWS. 12) to add that In the event of a tie vote from the Chapter membership, the Board of Directors will vote to resolve the tie and declare which nominee is elected. 13) TO REMOVE THE SPEAKER OF THE MEMBERSHIP MEETING AND THE SIX DIRECTORS AS OFFICER POSITIONS. 14) TO ADD THAT ONLY PHYSICAL THERAPIST MEMBERS MAY SEEK AND HOLD OFFICE FOR THE POSITION OF DISTRICT CHAIR AND TO STATE THAT TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR ELECTION OR APPOINTMENT AS DISTRICT CHAIR, MEMBERS MUST HAVE BELONGED TO THE ASSOCIATION FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS AND HAVE BEEN IN GOOD STANDING FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO THE ELECTION. 15) TO ADD THAT AFTER VACATING THE OFFICE FOR ONE YEAR, A QUALIFIED MEMBER MAY SEEK RE-ELECTION AS AN OFFICER OR BOARD MEMBER. 16) TO STATE THAT THE DISTRICT CHAIRS SHALL BE ELECTED BY THE CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP TO SERVE TWO YEAR TERMS, OR UNTIL THE ELECTION AND ASSUMPTION TO OFFICE OF THEIR SUCCESSORS, THAT DISTRICT CHAIRS SHALL NOT SERVE MORE THAN TWO CONSECUTIVE COMPLETE TERMS IN THE SAME OFFICE, AND THAT THEY SHALL ASSUME THEIR DUTIES ON JANUARY 1 FOLLOWING THE ELECTION. 17) TO STATE THAT A BOARD MEMBER CAN BE REMOVED FROM OFFICE BY UNANIMOUS VOTE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS EXCEPT FOR THE MEMBER IN QUESTION, FOR DERELICTION OF DUTIES (THIS PROVISION PREVIOUSLY ONLY APPLIED TO OFFICERS). 18) TO REMOVE THE VICE PRESIDENT AS AN EX-OFFICIO MEMBER OF THE ETHICS COMMITTEE. 19) TO REMOVE THE SECRETARY'S DUTY TO PREPARE A WRITTEN ANNUAL REPORT. 20) TO REMOVE THE TREASURER'S DUTY TO PROVIDE FOR AN ANNUAL AUDIT AND MONITOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF DUES TO THE DISTRICTS AND TO STATE THE THAT THE TREASURER IS THE CHAIR OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE. 21) TO ADD ADMINISTRATION OF CHAPTER AWARDS AND LIASON WITH SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS AS DUTIES OF THE CHAPTER'S SIX DIRECTORS. 22) To state that the board of directors is to provide for an annual review of all finances, to be responsible for the annual conference of the chapter, to be responsible for official chapter communications, and to be responsible for the maintenance and development of all official chapter documents. 23) to remove the board of directors duty to direct the activities of committees and appoint the chairs of ad hoc committees 24) TO REMOVE THE PROVISION REGARDING THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE. 25) to require that the speaker of chapter meeting be a member in good standing of the APTA for a minimum of two years (previously four) immediately prior to the election.

Previously, When APTA's bylaws had been amended so as to require amendment of the Chapter bylaws, the Bylaws only needed to be approved by the chapter board of directors. 10) to remove the provision requiring a two thirds affirmative vote by the responding membership to amend the bylaws. all bylaws amendments must be approved by the membership, but no ratio of affirmative votes is specified. 11) TO REQUIRE A MINIMUM RETURN OF FIVE PERCENT OF TOTAL BYLAWS BALLOTS OR 100 BYLAWS BALLOTS, WHICHEVER IS LEAST, TO REVISE THE BYLAWS. 12) to add that In the event of a tie vote from the Chapter membership, the Board of Directors will vote to resolve the tie and declare which nominee is elected. 13) TO REMOVE THE SPEAKER OF THE MEMBERSHIP MEETING AND THE SIX DIRECTORS AS OFFICER POSITIONS. 14) TO ADD THAT ONLY PHYSICAL THERAPIST MEMBERS MAY SEEK AND HOLD OFFICE FOR THE POSITION OF DISTRICT CHAIR AND TO STATE THAT TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR ELECTION OR APPOINTMENT AS DISTRICT CHAIR, MEMBERS MUST HAVE BELONGED TO THE ASSOCIATION FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS AND HAVE BEEN IN GOOD STANDING FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO THE ELECTION. 15) TO ADD THAT AFTER VACATING THE OFFICE FOR ONE YEAR, A QUALIFIED MEMBER MAY SEEK RE-ELECTION AS AN OFFICER OR BOARD MEMBER. 16) TO STATE THAT THE DISTRICT CHAIRS SHALL BE ELECTED BY THE CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP TO SERVE TWO YEAR TERMS, OR UNTIL THE ELECTION AND ASSUMPTION TO OFFICE OF THEIR SUCCESSORS, THAT DISTRICT CHAIRS SHALL NOT SERVE MORE THAN TWO CONSECUTIVE COMPLETE TERMS IN THE SAME OFFICE, AND THAT THEY SHALL ASSUME THEIR DUTIES ON JANUARY 1 FOLLOWING THE ELECTION. 17) TO STATE THAT A BOARD MEMBER CAN BE REMOVED FROM OFFICE BY UNANIMOUS VOTE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS EXCEPT FOR THE MEMBER IN QUESTION, FOR DERELICTION OF DUTIES (THIS PROVISION PREVIOUSLY ONLY APPLIED TO OFFICERS). 18) TO REMOVE THE VICE PRESIDENT AS AN EX-OFFICIO MEMBER OF THE ETHICS COMMITTEE. 19) TO REMOVE THE SECRETARY'S DUTY TO PREPARE A WRITTEN ANNUAL REPORT. 20) TO REMOVE THE TREASURER'S DUTY TO PROVIDE FOR AN ANNUAL AUDIT AND MONITOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF DUES TO THE DISTRICTS AND TO STATE THE THAT THE TREASURER IS THE CHAIR OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE. 21) TO ADD ADMINISTRATION OF CHAPTER AWARDS AND LIASON WITH SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS AS DUTIES OF THE CHAPTER'S SIX DIRECTORS. 22) To state that the board of directors is to provide for an annual review of all finances, to be responsible for the annual conference of the chapter, to be responsible for official chapter communications, and to be responsible for the maintenance and development of all official chapter documents. 23) to remove the board of directors duty to direct the activities of committees and appoint the chairs of ad hoc committees 24) TO REMOVE THE PROVISION REGARDING THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE. 25) to require that the speaker of chapter meeting be a member in good standing of the APTA for a minimum of two years (previously four) immediately prior to the election.
