To secure the economic interest and working conditions of it's members. To improve the standard of professionalism, integrity and practices of the cedar rapids police department and to sponsor and promote educational programs for the betterment and advancement of the union's members. To cooperate with other bargaining units, employees and department management of the city of cedar rapids, ia. To establish and maintain such further programs as may be desirable to advance the above purposes and objectives of the union. To assist members without regard to race, creed, color, sex, religion, age or disability for the purpose of improving wages, benefits & working conditions. To obtain the status of exclusive bargaining representation for eligible employees with the cedar rapids police department and to process & resolve grievvances & enforce all other rights arising out of the collective bargaining relationship between the union and the city of cedar rapids.
