“To foster the development of the sport of water polo, initially in illinois and subsequently the midwest. The association will accomplish this goal by developing an organizational structure that will create programs that cultivate the skills of amateur water polo athletes, coaches, timers, managers and officials. The programs will be available to amateur athletes of all socio-economical backgrounds, ages and skill levels. Programs will also be available for handicapped water polo athletes. To accomplish these goals the association will obtain pool time at a local aquatic facility where the aforementioned participants can register for training programs and competitive leagues. The association hopes to develop athletes who will compete at the local, regional, national & international levels. The association will promote & organize local, national & international water polo tournaments in illinois consistent with the standards of quality set forth by the us water polo assoc. The revenue from tournaments, program revenues and public support will eventually be used to develop a world class facility in chicago, il for use by water polo athletes as well as for use by athletes engaged in other aquatic events.”
