The muskegon museum of art foundation is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to promote understanding, education, and enjoyment of fine art to the citizens of muskegon county and all of west michigan.
Until the transfer of all assets of the muskegon museum of art on june 30, 2014, the muskegon museum of art foundation's mission was to raise, solicit, generate and appeal for funds for the muskegon museum of art and to assist the governing body for the museum. The museum's mission is to promote understanding, education and enjoyment of fine art to the citizens of muskegon county and all of west michigan.

Corky tuttle fund: established 9/22/2005; endowed fund; however has also been a depository for short term funds; tuttle family has made gifts to support work of art and glass exhibitions. Inspire campaign endowment fund: a holding fund for which all inspire gifts unless otherwise designated, go into this fund. Those funds were depleted and the fund was re-opened in december 2013 to hold restricted gifts for art acquisition. Muskegon museum of art endowment fund: established 12/5/2011; distributions to be used to support the programming and operations of the muskegon museum of art.”

DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR, WE OFFERED 18 UNIQUE EXHIBITIONS OF FINE ART, BOTH CONTEMPORARY AND ART HISTORICAL, TO THE PUBLIC.EDUCATION AND SPECIAL PROGRAMS: ORGANIZED EDUCATION TOURS, LED BY TRAINED VOLUNTEER DOCENTS, WERE CONDUCTED FOR 6,150 STUDENTS AND ADULTS FROM THROUGHOUT THE WEST MICHIGAN REGION AND BEYOND. WE ALSO DEVELOPED NEW EDUCATION PROGRAMS: A SPECIAL TOUR PROGRAM FOR ALZHEIMER PATIENTS AND A NEW POETRY WRITING COMPETITION FOR ADULTS UTILIZING THE PERMANENT COLLECTION. IN ADDITION, 3,061 FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN ENJOYED OUR SUPER SATURDAY PROGRAM OFFERED ON THE SECOND SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH.COLLECTIONS: NINE SIGNIFICANT WORKS FROM THE PERMANENT COLLECTION WERE LENT TO INSTITUTIONS RANGING FROM MICHIGAN MUSEUMS AND ART CENTERS TO MUSEUMS IN CINCINNATI, BARCELONA, AND MADRID.
