“Journey forward is an 8-month program offered free of charge to any adult in the greater kalamazoo county area. Our program provides a holistic approach to a full life through relationship-driven life skills classes. All classes are based on our basic human needs: safety/ security, love/belonging, learn/grow/create, knowledge of god, value/purpose, and physical care. Classes are on a weekly basis, offering: dinner, child care, class instruction, and relational mentoring. Lovekzoo today offers "wrap- around suppport" in the form of gas cards, bus tokens, non-food pantries, christmas toy closet, and thanksgiving baskets. There are 4 classes in total and each course is 8 weeks in length. The curricula for the life skills courses are as follows: healthy parenting class, healthy emotions, healthy image, and healthy finances. The key outcomes from this program are: financial literacy; emotional, relational, and spiritual wholeness; life skills that are more than taught. They become a part of thow the person is; to realize in parenting, loving your child well requires structure, healthy discipline, and good boundaries. Overall, lovekzoo.today has a track record of success, and a model to follow. They proved a well- structured program for their participants.
