The executive committee (president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer) will review the full and complete 990 prior to filing, and the full and complete 990 will be issued electronically to all board members prior to filing for their feedback. In addition, the 990 will be reviewed at the first board meeting after the 990 has been filed.

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 12C

The policy is reviewed each year when new bod members are added. All bod members are requred to sign and return the conflict of interest statement when they join the board. In addition, the board member role description includes a conflict of interest statement and the statement is reviewed at the first bod meeting of every fiscal year.

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 15A

A compensation review of the executive director's salary was conducted at the end of 2022 by the executive committee, led by the board president. As part of this process, in addition to historical and comparative data, the executive committee considered the effects of inflation after several years of salary freeze, as well as the growth of the organization since the most recent salary review.

IRS990ScheduleI/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0THE USE OF GRANT FUNDS IS MONITORED IN TWO WAYS. FIRST, THROUGH THE DUE DILIGENCE RESEARCH OF THE PROGRAMS MANAGER WHEN ASSESSING THE INITIAL GRANT REQUEST AND POTENTIAL GRANT AMOUNT. THE GRANT APPLICANT MUST PROVIDE ALL RELEVANT DOCUMENTATION OF EXPENSES AND THE PROGRAM MANAGER VERIFIES THAT A VALID QUALIFYING EVENT HAS OCCURRED AND THAT THE NEED DOES EXIST. SECOND, ONCE A GRANT IS APPROVED, PAYMENTS ARE NOT TYPICALLY MADE DIRECTLY TO THE GRANT RECIPIENT, INSTEAD PAYMENTS ARE MADE DIRECTLY TO THE SERVICE PROVIDER/COMPANY ON BEHALF OF THE GRANT RECIPIENT. EXAMPLES OF SERVICE PROVIDERS/COMPANIES INCLUDE: UTILITY COMPANIES, MORTGAGE LENDERS, MEDICAL PROVIDERS, AND FUNERAL SERVICE PROVIDERS. IN ADDITION, WHEN PAYMENTS/FUNDS ARE SENT TO A PROVIDER/COMPANY THE GRANT RECIPIENT'S ACCOUNT INFORMATION IS INCLUDED SO THAT PAYMENT IS APPLIED PROPERLY.
