“The organization is a corporation that has members that may belong as one of several classes of membership: single member at a cost of 25 per year family member at a cost of 45 per year business member at a cost of 45 per year institutional member at a cost of 45 per year special (honorary) member that is at no cost all member classes have equal rights and voting privileges”

“The organization has five classes of membership, all with equal voting rights to elect members to the board of directors. Candidates are selected by a nominating committee appointed by the president of the board of directors and from the floor at the annual meeting. These candidates are voted upon at the annual meeting held in may of each year.”

“The form is submitted to the members of the governing body either at a regularly scheduled meeting or by electronic delivery for comment prior to the filing date of the return.”

“The performance of the executive director is reviewed by the president and at least one other director of the society. Any salary adjustment is debated by the executive committee consisting of the officers of the society and when consensus is reached the adjustment is made.”

“All governing documents, policy statements, and financial statements are made available to the public upon request.”

“Volunteers assist in developing historical programs, participate in historical presentations to various groups, serve as docents in the museum, develop museum displays, perform maintenance on the museum and grounds and other tasks as necessary”

“Maintain a local museum and collection of local artifacts for display as well as sponsoring educational events at the museum to promote public awareness and provide for the preservation of the local history of sturgis, michigan.”
