Crime stoppers raises the awareness of crime in the eight-county region in southeastern michigan by partnering with media, grass roots organizations, victims' families, schools, neighborhoods, and businesses, allowing citizens to get involved against crime. This is done through crime stoppers' management of an anonymous tip line, which received 6,471 tips during 2016 and resulted in the awarding of $56,350 in rewards, leading to 209 arrests.
