A city of inkster senior services tax millage was passed; the city manager requrested the 501c3 organization transfer all its assets and equity to a non profit organization not a 501c3; the city believed it would be more desirable to have the tax millage flow through a city monitored non profit commission versus an unrelated 501c3 organizaiton. Therefore, the non profit has the same board, staff and programs as the previous inkster senior service inc 501c3; it is the inkster commission on aging.

Inkster senior services inc terminated activities as of june 30, 2016. All assets and liabilities were transferred to a non profit organization- inkster commission on aging. A tax millage was passed and the city of inkster required the millage be disbursed to the city commission versus a 501c3 organization.inkster senior services inc will remain dormant for now and may be used for grant applications in the future should they arise.
