Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The 990 was reviewed by the president. Copies of the draft 990 were provided to the board prior to filing.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

The organization's president is a volunteer and as such is not compensated. Jam annually reviews salaries by participating in the birches group salary survey. Survey information through birches is released 3 times a year. Data gathered for the survey is by interview of various organizations and not solely on questionaires. Birches analyst performs job matching to ensure consistency. Once the survey is released in october, compensation packages are presented to the international remuneration committee and compensation packages are then set by the committee. Any incremental increases in salary for all such positions are approved via the same process. The international remuneration committee has only independent (non-office bearing persons) members. The current committee consists of the chairman and two members. Once the committee has reviewed and decided on the packages, they are then approved by the international board of directors and the relevant affiliate office board.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt1THE ORGANIZATION'S PRESIDENT IS A VOLUNTEER AND AS SUCH IS NOT COMPENSATED.
