The organization does not have any committees that have authority to act on behalf of the goverfning body. All committee actions must be approved by the governing body.

Form 990 governing body review Part VI line 11

The entire governing body mets to review the form 990 using a commercially available review tool publisherd by practitioner's publishing company. Board members reviewed the mission, compliance and governance items of the return. They compared the revenue and expense items with the year-end financial statements.

Conflict of interest policy compliance Part VI line 12C

Corporate bylays contain the conflict of interest policy. After the annual meeting, each board member is required to sign an acknowledgement stating that he or she has received a copy of the conflict of interest policy,that they have read, understood,and agree to comply with it. They also acknowledge that the organization can only engage in activities that accomplish its exempt purpose. In addition, the corporation's collection management policy contains a conflict of interst clause that prohibits self-collecting by board members without disclosing the purchase of an artifact of a kind that the corporation would collect within thirty days of purchase by the board member. The policy is monitored throughout the year by the vice president who is the compliance officer.

Not reporting collections (Part III, line 1A)

The organization has elected, as permitted under sfas 116 and asc 958-360-25 not to report in its revenue statement and balance sheet the value of donated historical artifacts. Because they are added to the permanent collection of the organization and they meet the following three criteria for such non-recognintion of collections:1) the artifacts are held for public exhibition, education, or research in furtherance of public service rather than financial gain; 2) they are kept unencumbered, cared for and preserved; and 3) they are subject to an organizational policy that requires the proceeds of such items that are sold to be used only to acquire other items for its collections.
