“As a fraternal organization, our officers are elected by the membership. The Fraternal Order of Eagles has a structured procedure to follow in Nominations for Office and Election of Officers. The membership is notified by email, website, meeting announcements, and Social Room postings of the nominations and elections, and the procedures and requirements of both. In some cases of vacancies in office, the President can appoint, but even then can only do so with membership vote of approval to appoint.”

“Decisions are made by a vote of the membership. Motions are made, seconded, opened to discussion, and then voted upon by the members present, in agreement with Robert's Rules of Orders.”

“Prior to filing, Officers are provided a copy of the Form 990. Members are advised via email, website, regular membership meeting announcements, and Social Room postings that Form 990 is available for member inspection prior to filing Form 990, and at any time thereafter. A copy of Form 990 is also sent to our headquarters, the Grand Aerie, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Grove City, Ohio for their inspection, use, and verification of our operational compliance.”

“As required by law, our filed Forms 990 are available to the public. Our governing documents, rites and ceremonies, and other organization-related documents are considered sensitive and internal, and in general are not available to the public unless legally necessary.”
