Financial Statement Notes

PART IV, LINE 1B:

Moultrie county beacon (mcb) is the representative payee for a number of its consumers with developmental disabilities. Social security funds received by the consumer are deposited into the consumer's bank accounts, but a mcb representative helps the consumer manage their funds and in some instances acts as a signer on the account. Mcb does not maintain any of the consumer's funds in the company's accounts.

PART X, LINE 2:

The beacon is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. However, income from activities not directly related to the beacon's tax-exempt purpose is subject to taxation as unrelated business income. The beacon has adopted the recognition requirements for uncertain tax positions and does not believe any uncertain tax positions exist at june 30, 2024.
