“The taxpayer is amending form 990 and the state ag990-il to reclassify additional ticket sales as program service revenue - ticket admissions. These sales were inadvertently originally reported as fundraising income. 1,440 of ticket sales were reclassifed creating a corresponding increase in program service revenue.”

“To bring fine symphonic orchestral and choral music to the people of quincy and the surrounding area, to provide organizations for local musicians to perform such music, and to create and support programs that encourage young musicians to continue fostering their interest and skills in symphonic and choral music.”

“Symphony orchestra and chorus educates the public on the study and culture of instrumental and vocal music. Performed 10 concerts from october to april provided free admission for age 18 and under to all concerts (369 children). Orchestra performed major works including sibelius symphony no. 5, brahms symphony no. 3, a concert of john williams music, and performances by trumpet soloists. Facilitated astronomer stem presentations in public & parochial schools & community college for northern lights science & symphony concert. Chorus performed holiday & spring concerts. Orchestra performed free educational concerts for over 3000 students from 12 counties. Commissioned and premiered a new work for orchestra by victor marquez-barrios. The carmina burana finale featured over 200 musicians, including professional opera soloists with orchestra, chorus & youth chorus, plus choirs from three local colleges.”

“Encore symphony volunteer council provides volunteer support and general fundraising for qsoa with a focus on youth music education. Held wizard of oz sing-along and other small fundraisers. Provided 8006 to qsoa for youth programs, 1248 to qsoa endowment, and 8745 in grants to high school musicians for summer music study, private lessons, concerto competition awards, and quincy's public & parochial school music programs. Manned ticket desks at concerts, and hosted after-concert receptions.”
