Manager's contract and compensation are reviewed annually by the officers of the Board. A recommendation is made and voted on by the entire Board. Board members are compensation via a per diem and mileage agreement. Mileage is paid at the standard IRS rate.

Financial Statement Notes

Part X, Line 2:

The Farm Bureau has recognized in the financial statements the effects of all tax positions and continually evaluates expiring statutes of limitations, audits, changes in tax law, and new authoritative rulings. The Farm Bureau is not aware of any circumstances or events that make it reasonably possible that unrecognized tax benefits may increase or decrease within 12 months of the date of the statement of financial position. Penalties and interest assessed by taxing authorities are included in miscellaneous expenses, if applicable. There were no interest or penalties paid during 2021 and 2020.

Members are allowed to voluntarily contribute to the Illinois Farm Bureau and the Illinois Agricultural Association Activator Political Involvement Fund. The Farm Bureau transfers the contributions directly to these funds upon receipt. These funds primarily support candidates for the Illinois General Assembly and the U.S. House of Representatitves, respectively, who, by their actions have been supportive of the IAA's policies. In addition, members are allowed to voluntarily contribute to the Sangamon County Farm Bureau Political Involvement Committee who supports local and/or state elected officials, who, by their actions, have been supportive of Sangamon County Farm Bureau policies. The contributions received by the membership for this fund is held by the Farm Bureau and distributed to candidates upon approval by the committee.
