Mission

The primary objective of this corporation shall be to promote the interest of agriculture in the state of illinois by providing a broad portfolio of third party services to the agri-food industry, which includes, but is not limited to, seed, feed and food. The objective shall be accomplished by either acting independently or in cooperation with other entities.

Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6

Any individual, firm or corporation who applies for authentication services, shall become an active member for one year by paying the annual membership fee. Active members shall have one vote on each matter submitted to a vote of the membership. Any individual, firm or corporation not applying for authentication services who is any way engaged in or connected with the seed or grain industries may become an associate member for one year by paying the annual associate membership fee. Associate members may attend the meetings of the membership, but shall not vote. Any individual, firm or corporation who conducts business within any of il crop's departments, but outside of the authentication programs, shall become an active member for one year by paying an annual membership fee. These active members shall have one vote on each matter submitted to a vote of the membership.

The board of directors shall be elected at the annual meeting of the members and shall serve for a term of two years from the date of their election.

Illinois crop improvement association's ceo reviews the federal tax return before filing. An electronic copy of the tax return is sent to each member of the audit committee. After review and any comments the final approval for filing is made by the ceo.
