Back to School Bash: Started in 2013 as a way to connect the community to resources that promote education and empowerment. It's held annually right before school starts. This free event gives away over 1,000 backpacks with school supplies and includes local non-profit organizations. Project Hope purchases the back packs that are filled with supplies.$0$14,750
SIMBA/SIMSA is a national organization, rescue, release and restore that mentors African American children ages 8-17. There was an annual week-long camping trip that included 14 young men and 3 male chaperones. They explore positive choices to envision a brighter future. The trip is to help transforms the self worth and empowers youth through leadership training, artistic expression and mentorship.$4,430$0
MENTORING PROGRAM: - We supported New Hope Baptist Church by helping cover the cost of transportation for Local high school students to attend the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) football game and engaging with over 50 HBCU representatives about admission opportunities. The student would have the opportunity to attend the HBCU college fair, battle of the bands, tailgating, and the football game. ANY high schooler is welcome to attend, and scholarships will be offered as well.$0$2,503
COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING: $500.00 -Juneteenth. In celebration of this important day, residents of DeKalb County will be gathering at Hopkins Park for fun, fellowship, and food. The festivities will take place on June 15, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event will include local vendors, social services, music, food trucks, activities and much more. While this significant milestone is typically noted by African-Americans; this gathering will be welcoming and inviting to everyone. -Fire Victims Donations $1,000.00: There was a fire in a building in a Dekalb IL apartment building that displaced 10 families that included 40 people. Several NFPs and Social Services are helping but more support is needed. Project HOPE partnered with New Hope, First Lutheran Church, and United Methodist Church in Sycamore, and Passion over Profits. Each organization would contribute $1000 ($5000 total) and give each family a gift card for $500.$1,500$0
