The garfield park conservatory alliance inspires, educates and provokes exploration through innovative programs and experiences in one of the nation's largest and finest plant conservatories. The conservatory changes lives through the power of nature. The alliance provides educational programming, visitor services and community engagement services to the garfield park conservatory and local community.

Officers, directors, trustees, and key employees are annual required to complete a conflict of interest disclosure statement as a precursor to their service to the organization. Potential conflicts are logged with and monitored by the secretary of the board.

Schedule D, Page 2, Part V, Line 4

The long-term objective for the funds adopted by garfield park conservatory alliance is to generate additional cash flow to help suport the alliance's general operations.

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

Accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america require management to evaluate tax positions taken by the alliance and recognize a tax liability if the alliance has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by the irs or other applicable taxing authorities. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken by the alliance and has conlcued that as of june 30, 2016 and 2015, there are no uncertain positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability or disclosure in teh financial statements. The alliance is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress. Management beleives it is no longer subject to income tax examinations for years prior to 2013.
