The Beginning Balance for the total assets are accurately reflecting the correct total for line 16 (Total Assets). This amount was updated from the prior years figures due to an error on the prior years (Fiscal year ending June 30, 2016) 990 where the ending balance for Total Assets was miscalculated. This was due to an error made by the preparer of that fiscal years return. The organization, which operates on a minimal budget, is now aware of the problem and steps have been put in place to ensure that this doesnt happen in the future.

IRS990/Desc0The organization received a grant from the Chicago Teachers Union Foundation to provide vocational rehabilitation services for grant period May 1, 2016 through July 31, 2017. The funds were used for educational purposes such as job conseling, job training to unemployed and underemployed persons, persons with disabilities, and persons with job disadvantages due to the lack of education, job skills, and experiences. Training and assessments were provided to all participants. All participants received support services, such as case management, transportation, tools, work clothes, etc. All participants must have a valid Illinois drivers license. The organization worked with the Secretary of States office and the John Marshall Law School to assist Illinois residents to obtain, renew, or restore driving privileges. Legal consultation was provided by the John Marshall Law School while the organization assisted participants with the applicable SOS License Fees.
