National trailer dealers association is composed of member companies concerned with all aspects of the semi-trailer industry.

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 7A

Directors of the organization are elected by the members for three year terms. 90 days prior to each annual meeting the association requests members to submit names of qualified candidates for nominations for the coming term. 60 days prior to the annual meeting the executive director shall prepare and mail to members appropriate ballots containing the names of the nominees. Each ballot shall indicate the number of responses needed to meet quorom requirements and specify the date by which the ballot must be received in order to be counted. All completed ballots received by the executive director at least 30 days prior to the annual meeting shall be deemed valid. The officers are nominated and elected from among the directors by the directors.

Promote general goodwill and public relations of independent trailer dealers, advocate high standards of service and conduct in the industry, encourage safety on public highways and in the vehicles there on, educate members on important matters affecting the industry.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

National trailer dealers association sponsors a newsletter that is published six times per year. The newsletter keeps members up to date on current industry trends and new legislation affecting the trailer industry. New products, personnel changes, and company news are topics covered in each issue. Vendors are able to communicate with industry members via paid advertisements. Ntda also sponsors a federal excise tax hotline, which allows members to call and talk to an fet expert at no charge. Access to fet experts allow members to comply with the complex requirements of the federal excise tax. In addition, the association funds an annual operating survey that collects and analyzes trailer dealer financial performance. Ntda also sponsors a convention where members can attend and see new products and familiarize themselves with new industry standards. In addition ntda sponsors scholarships each year.
