THE PEACE CENTER HOSTED DAVID BARSAMIAN, PRODUCER OF ALTERNATIVE RADIO TO MISSOULA IN OCTOBER 2013 FOR A COMMUNITY LECTURE TO 200 PEOPLE. THE PEACE CENTER CONDUCTED OUR ANNUAL YOUTH SEARCH FOR PEACE ART CONTEST WITH OVER 120 ENTRIES FROM LOCAL YOUTH AND WE EXCHANGED THE ART WITH CHILDREN FROM THE UKRAINE AND MOROCCO. “The peace center was featured in a full-length documentary, "beyond the divide" about the courage to find common ground and overcome differences between veterans and peace advocates. There were 2 screenings in february 2014 in conjunction with the big sky documentary film festival. The peace center hosted an ongoing discussion group in conjunction with the um mansfield center on intercultural dialogue attended monthly throughout the summer by 40 people. The peace center hosted david barsamian, producer of alternative radio to missoula in october 2013 for a community lecture to 200 people. The peace center conducted our annual youth search for peace art contest with over 120 entries from local youth and we exchanged the art with children from the ukraine and morocco. The peace center's peace knitting group made 26 warm items for active army reserve soldiers as well as 39 hats for children in burma nad 7 items for the seaman's institute. The peace center's dish pantry offered dishes, silverware and napkins to 23 individuals and groups for events to prevent the use of disposables.”
“The fair trade store provided outreach to the community by hosting a fair trade month event with 8 businesses in missoula and participating in a fair trade coffee break to educate the public about fair trade and ethical practices. We continue to provide an alternative shopping experience for an average of 300 customers per week.”

THE PEACE CENTER HOSTED AN ONGOING DISCUSSION GROUP IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE UM MANSFIELD CENTER ON INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE ATTENDED MONTHLY THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER BY 40 PEOPLE. THE PEACE CENTER HOSTED DAVID BARSAMIAN, PRODUCER OF ALTERNATIVE RADIO TO MISSOULA IN OCTOBER 2013 FOR A COMMUNITY LECTURE TO 200 PEOPLE. THE PEACE CENTER CONDUCTED OUR ANNUAL YOUTH SEARCH FOR PEACE ART CONTEST WITH OVER 120 ENTRIES FROM LOCAL YOUTH AND WE EXCHANGED THE ART WITH CHILDREN FROM THE UKRAINE AND MOROCCO. THE PEACE CENTER'S PEACE KNITTING GROUP MADE 26 WARM ITEMS FOR ACTIVE ARMY RESERVE SOLDIERS AS WELL AS 39 HATS FOR CHILDREN IN BURMA NAD 7 ITEMS FOR THE SEAMAN'S INSTITUTE. THE PEACE CENTER'S DISH PANTRY OFFERED DISHES, SILVERWARE AND NAPKINS TO 23 INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS FOR EVENTS TO PREVENT THE USE OF DISPOSABLES. |
