“Grants to local CAP organization. The Organization follows the National Exchange Club which promotes the Prevention of Child Abuse by supporting child abuse prevention centers. In direct support of this effort, the Organization provided a grant totaling 8,000 to Guardian Angel Community Service Organization, which hosts the Exchange Child Abuse Prevention Center.”

Other organizations receiving grants included on Line 10, Page 1, Part I, Grants and Smilar Amounts are grants to local charitable organizations based on presented needs although not tied into child abuse prevention or youth programs. Those organizations were Wreaths Across America wreaths placed on veterans graves at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL 150 Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce top ten percent high school students awards recognition program 500 NEC Foundation for awards program 250.”

“The Organization is the charitable arm of the Exchange Club of Joliet a 501c 4 organization. It conducts the National Exchange Clubs programs of service. For 2019-20 those programs and activities included Firefighter of Year - honored firefighter at luncheon attended by 85 people One Nation Under God which honors God and Country, held November 18, 2019 at a luncheon attended by 14 people Police Officer of Year - honored police officer at luncheon attended by about 89 people Youth of Year Program - the studend of the year competition honored two students. This event was held June 2020 by virtual presentation of students and members watching virtually from home or office. The winner of the competition was entered in the Exchange Clubs state competion Handing out small US Flags - this event is called GIVEAKIDAFLAGTOWAVE. Each year organization members hand out flags on July 4 at the local Joliet Memorial Stadium as the kids arrive with their families to watch the annual fireworks show. About 1,450 US flags were distributed on July 4, 2019 ROTC - pins were presented to students at Joliet Township HIgh School West and Central Campuses who participated in the ROTC progran at their respective high schools. A representative of the Organizaiton presented the medals to the students as a small gathering of ROTC participants as oppossed to the usual presentation at the school wide awards cermony curtailed because of Covid - 19. State Convention June 2020 - held virtually with various members of the club logging in and participating in the online convention normally held in person - Covid 19 change National Convention July 2019 - two members of the Organziation represented the Exchange Club at the National Convention held in July 2019. The National Convention included educational seminars, general meeting gatherings featuring Exchange Programs of Service, including the annual One Nation Under God Program, Youth of Year/ Ace Award Luncheon presentation, as well as memorial service to deceased members of Echange who passed during recent completed fiscal year.”
