“The four officers of the board shall constitute the executive committee. The executive committee may conduct the business of the agency between the full committee's regular meetings. Except for the power to amend the articles of incorporation, bylaws, and policy decisions, the executive committee shall have all of the powers and authority of the board of directorsin the intervals between meetings of the board of directors, subject to the direction and ontrol of the board of directors. The executive committee shall inform the full committee of it's actions.”

“The counties that are part of the planning and service area of council on aging are able to appoint an individual to the board of directors of council on aging to represent their county. They are able to do as long as they provide matching funds to the organization under the memorandum of understanding that council on aging has with each county.”

“Board members sign a new conflict of interest policy at the beginning of each year indicating what other positions they hold that might create a potential conflict of interest and if they have any known conflicts of interest. The statements are reviewed by the executive director and filed by the financial manager. The executive director along with the financial manager monitors transactions that could potentially cause a conflict of interest with the board members. The executive director determines whether a conflict exists. Any conflicts of interest that are determined are discussed with board of directors. Any member with a determined conflict of interest abstains from voting in regards to motions involving the conflict of interest.”
“Cmcoa has a formal salary review process constructed on a 3 year cycle. Year 1 is a full salary study, year 2 and 3 are updates. The salary study is completed by an outside consultant. The results are reviewed by the executive director and financial manager. It is then presented to the board of directors for approval. The process described here was last completed in 2024.”

CLASSES INCLUDED: DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM- (DPP); MINDFUL PRESENCE: COMPASSIONATE CARE FOR SELF AND OTHERS; GUIDED AUTOBIOGRAPHY; TAI JI QUAN MOVING FOR BETTER BALANCE; CHRONIC DISEASE SELF-MANAGEMENT PROGRAM (CDSMP); STAY ACTIVE & INDEPENDENT FOR LIFE (SAIL; COACHING FOR HYPERTENSION AND PEARLS COACH (PROGRAM TO ENCOURAGE ACTIVE, REWARDING LIVES).- CMCOA HEALTHY AGING COORDINATOR TRAINED TO BE A PROGRAM TO ENCOURAGE ACTIVE, REWARDING LIVES (PEARLS) COACH. DEVELOPED PARTNERSHIP WITH WHITNEY SENIOR CENTER AND CENTRACARE HEALTH SERVED AS A SUPERVISING ENTITY AND OFFERED REFERRALS TO ENGAGE OLDER PATIENTS IN PEARLS. TWELVE INDIVIDUALS WERE SERVED WITH PEARLS. - PEARLS COHORT- DEVELOPED A COLLABORATION BETWEEN CMCOA, HORIZON HEALTH, KNUTE NELSON, CROW WING ENERGIZED AND CROW WING HUMAN SERVICES IN CASS, CROW WING, TODD, MORRISON, AND WADENA COUNTIES. FIFTEEN NEW PEARLS COACHES TRAINED. ONE AREA PERSON HAS BECOME MASTER TRAINED TO BE CAPABLE OF OFFERING IN-PERSON COACHES TRAINING IF NEEDED IN THE CMCOA REGION. - BETWEEN TRAINEES AND PARTICIPANTS OVERALL THE CLASSES SERVED WELL OVER 300.
