Part X - Mortgage Repayment Terms

REPAYMENT TERMS OF THE MORTGAGE: the organization executed a one-time option to convert the construction loan to a fixed rate agreement for a seven year period with a twenty year amortization schedule. Monthly installments of principal and interest in the amount of $8,274 are to be paid with a stated interest rate of 4.89%. Any unpaid principal and interest is due at the end of the repayment period on July 3, 2018.

The Bereavement Center: Program Accomplishments: There were 7,901 people served through the Bereavement Center outreach activities which include seminars, support groups, family camp, mailings, outreach calls, memorial services and private counseling. The purpose of this fund is to perpetuate, partially support and uphold the educational, bereavement, charity care and other unfunded services of rainbow hospice and palliative care through hospice, the bereavement center and the life institute.

The Organization is exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. In addition, the Organization has been determined by the Internal Revenue Service not to be a "private foundation" within the meaning of Section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. Therefore, the Organization has made no provision for income taxes in the accompanying financial statements. The Organization accounts for any potential interest or penalties related to the possible future liabilities for unrecognized income tax benefits as interest/other expense. The Organization is no longer subject to examination by tax authorities for federal, state or local income taxes for periods before 2007.

IRS990/Desc0Hospice Services & Inpatient Unit: Program Accomplishments: 2,475 patients were cared for in the hospice program which does not reflect the hundreds of patients and families that died before we were able to bring them on service. The average daily census (ADC) for the year was 324 with an average length of service of 50 days. 74.9% of all inpatient hospice care was provided through the Ark, the 15 bed inpatient unit. The average daily census there was 11 caring for a total of 662 patients.
