“The association has the following membership types: 1) local members, who are illinois-licensed structural engineers and have home/work zip code under 6100, 2) non-local members, who are illinois-licensed structural engineers and have home/work zip codes over 61000, 3) associate members (asc), who are individuals practicing in the field of structural engineering, but are notlicensed in illinois and received a baccalaureate degree more than 8 years ago, 4) associate members (asi), who are individuals practicing in the field of structural engineering, but are notlicensed in illinois and received a baccalaureate degree less than 8 years ago, 5) affiliate members, who are individuals who work outside the structural engineering profession, 6) students, who are individuals entrolled full-time in a college or university degree program, and 7) life members, which are awarded by the association's board of directors.”

“Members and associate members are sent a ballot listing the nominees for the various offices and cast votes electing the officers and directors.”

“Proposed changes to the by-laws are sent to all members and associate members at least fifteen days before voting takes place.”
