Committed to improving the quality of life for chicago's low-income elderly, housing opportunities and maintenance for the elderly (h.o.m.e.) helps seniors remain independent and part of their community by offering opportunities for intergenerational living and by providing a variety of citywide support services.

H.o.m.e. Helps chicago's low-income older adults to live independent and socially engaged lives by providing intergenerational housing, home repair services, a shopping bus, moving assistance, and caring volunteers.

All the board members must sign a conflict of interest statement. If there is any potential or perceived conflict of interest, the resolution will be noted as such and will become part of the minutes. There was no conflict of interest in the fiscal year 2024.

In 2020, h.o.m.e engaged a consultant to perform a full compensation review. As a result, h.o.m.e. Adopted a compensation philosophy for fy 2021 accompanied by pay equity increases. The president of the board along with another board member compared the executive director's salary with the guidestar benchmark survey and found the salary to be within the range.
