Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The Northern Illinois Electrical Joint Apprenticeship was established to provide the best available training to apprentices of all classifications of the electrical construction industry in north central Illinois, through rigorous classroom curriculum and extensive hands-on training. Apprentices completing up to five years of study and on-the-job training provide a skilled work force for our customers.

The organization provides education and training to electrician apprentices, along with continuing education classes to union electricians of ibew local 364.

The northern illinois electrical joint apprenticeship and training trust (herein after, niejatt) members have a right to expect a decision-making process that is independent, objective and unbiased. Those participating in the decision-making process must give the organization fair warning and possibly take corrective action if they have interests that conflict or compete with those of the organization. All members of the board of directors, voluntary leaders and employees shall report to the chairman or secretary any current or potential conflicts they may have with the best interests of the niejatt. This policy is presented and signed by individuals upon volunteering or becoming employed with the organization.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization is a not-for profit organization exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Accordingly, no provision for income taxes has been made in the accompanying financial statements. The organization accounts for income taxes in accordance with fasb asc 740, income taxes. Fasb asc 740 provides detailed guidance for the financial statement recognition, measurement and disclosure of uncertain tax positions recognized in an organization's financial statements and requires an entity to recognize the financial statement impact of a tax position when it is more likely than not that the position will be sustained upon examination. The organization recorded no liabilities for uncertain tax positions or unrecognized tax benefits. The federal and state income tax returns remain open to examination by taxing authorities through their statutory periods.

ITS MISSION IS TO PROVIDE THE BEST AVAILABLE TRAINING TO APPRENTICES OF ALL CLASSIFICATIONS OF THE ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY IN NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS, THROUGH RIGOROUS CLASSROOM CURRICULUM AND EXTENSIVE HANDS-ON PRACTICE. APPRENTICES COMPLETING UP TO FIVE YEARS OF STUDY AND ON-THE-JOB TRAINING PROVIDE A SKILLED WORK FORCE FOR OUR CUSTOMERS.
