The purpose of the organization is to establish and monitor policy governing the certification program, to accept responsibility for financial management of the program and to maintain an official roster of certified dietary managers.

Promote excellence and industry best practices in foodservice management and safety through administering and maintaining the certified dietary manager, certified food protection professional (cdm, cfpp) credential.

Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7A

The cbdm consists of seven individuals. Four of the members must be cdm, cfpps and shall be elected by certificants. The remaining three board members must be non-members of the dietary managers association (d/b/a anfp) and must include a registered dietitian nutritionist, a healthcare administrator and a public consumer. These three board members are appointed by the cbdm as their terms are set to expire or positions are vacated. All board members have rotating terms.

The vp of finance & operations and the executive director are authorized to review and approve the tax return before filing.

Board members receive the conflict of interest policy and are asked to sign it annually. Also at the beginning of board meetings members are asked if they have any conflicts of interest.

The related organization reviews compensation using benchmarking to evaluate salaries. The board approves the total budgeted salary annually.
