Directors are elected from nominees by the manufacturer and supplier member representatives at the annual meeting or electronic voting before the annual meeting of the council.”

Effective march 1, 2009, the first agenda item at each board meeting throughout the year is to inquire if there has been any change with any member's circumstance that could create a potential conflict of interest. The information will then be recorded as part of the official minutes and addressed as needed.”

In june a mid-year review is conducted with the compensation committee and in december a final review is held. Based on the outcome of this review, along with the most recent salary survey from the council of manufacturing associations (cma), the compensation committee determines the bonus and percentage increase for the president's compensation.”
