The board of directors of the organization are appointed by the following organizations: the american pharmacists association appoints three (3) directors; the national association of boards of pharmacy appoints three (3) directors; the american association of colleges of pharmacy appoints three (3) directors; the american council on education appoints one (1) director.

The organization's executive director reviews and approves form 990 prior to filing.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 12C Conflict of interest policy

Prior to each meeting, legal counsel for acpe reviews the conflict statement with the board of directors and reports on legal developments in the conflict area (state and federal) such as court decisions and department of education regulations and policies. In addition, at every meeting of the board of directors, the chairman, prior to any discussion asks for conflicts as each matter involving accreditation or approval of a continuing pharmacy education provider comes up on the agenda. A conflicted board member generally leaves the meeting until after the matter is discussed and voted upon. Conflicts are reflected in the minutes of each meeting. In addition acpe requires all parties to sign a conflict of interest form at the beginning of each year.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 15A Process to establish compensation of top management official

The executive committee reviews the status of the executive director's salary annually for competiveness and reasonableness. The executive committee reviews the status of the executive director based on standards such as leadership, preparation for the board of directors meetings, administrative abilities, staff interviews, dependability, innovatively, critiques, if any, from colleges and schools of pharmacy or other third parties, and salaries of persons in comparable positions. Based upon its findings, the executive committee makes a salary recommendation to the board of directors. The salary review occurs annually.

(Expenses $ 25,427 including grants of $) Pharmacy Technician Education Accreditation Collaboration (PTAC) is a collaboration between ACPE and the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) to promote, assure and advance the quality of pharmacy technician education and training programs in the United States. Both ACPE and ASHP Board of Directors approve accreditation standards.

The financial statements of the organization have been prepared on the modified cash basis of accounting, which is a comprehensive basis of accounting other than generally accepted accounting principles. Modifications to the cash basis of accounting include reporting investments at fair value, capitalizing and depreciating the cost of property and equipment purchases, and deferring recognition of revenue received for services provided subsequent to the current fiscal year.
