“Each chamber member has the opportunity to vote electronically for new chamber board members. Annually, the board of directors nominates a slate of individuals representing our chamber membership to be included on an electronic ballot to fill any open chamber board seats. Our membership of 300+ then vote for who fills those board seats. Chamber members can volunteer themselves to run for a board seat, or current sitting board members and/or the executive director of the organization can make recommendations. Anyone on the ballot must have agreed prior to run for a board seat and cannot be nominated if they are not willing to serve.”
“Chamber board of director meeting minutes are taken each month by the chamber board secretary, and the minutes are approved at the next month's meeting. Chamber board meeting minutes are filed at the chamber office in a secure location accessible by only board members. Committee meeting minutes are taken for some events and programming through the year by each committee to stay organized and on task, however, those are accessible to anyone, and a chamber committee must always have big decisions approved by the chamber board of directors and executive director.”
