Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The school is a not-for-profit organization that is exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and is classified by the internal revenue service as other than a private foundation. Accordingly, a provision for income taxes has not been made on the financial statements. The school has evaluated its tax position taken for all open tax years. Currently, the 2016, 2017 and 2018 tax years are open and subject to examination by the internal revenue service and the department of revenue of certain states; however, the school is not currently under audit nor has the school been contacted by any of these jurisdictions. Based on the evaluation of the school's tax positions, management believes all positions taken would be upheld under an examination; therefore, no provision for the effects of uncertain tax positions has been recorded for the year ended june 30, 2018.

OUR CENTERS ARE MULTIDISCIPLINARY AND INCORPORATE AND OVERLAP MATH, SCIENCE, LITERACY, SOCIAL STUDIES, FINE AND GROSS MOTOR SKILLS, DRAMA, ART, AND SENSORY EXPERIENCES. OUR CLASSROOMS ARE DIVERSE LEARNING CENTERS REPRESENTING THE STUDENTS AND THE OUTSIDE COMMUNITY THROUGH THE MATERIALS AND ACTIVITIES.STUDENTS WORK COLLABORATIVELY TO COMPLETE PROJECTS AS PART OF A TEAM, BRINGING THE PROJECTS TO LIFE AND ALLOWING THE CHILDREN TO MAKE SENSE OF ALL THEY ARE LEARNING.LOWER SCHOOLIN LOWER SCHOOL, KINDERGARTEN THROUGH GRADE 4, THE CORE CURRICULUM IS TAUGHT BY THE CLASSROOM TEACHER. STUDENTS ALSO RECEIVE INSTRUCTION IN WORLD LANGUAGES, ART, MUSIC, PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND LIBRARY SKILLS FROM SPECIALIZED FACULTY. DIFFERENTIATION IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE LOWER SCHOOL CURRICULUM. TEACHERS KNOW WHERE EACH LEARNER IS ON A CONTINUUM OF KNOWLEDGE AND SUPPORT THEIR UNIQUE GROWTH THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
