“As part of its mission to conserve Utahs agricultural lands UALT is actively fundraising to support the preservation of Cascade Farms a 20+ acre family farm in Provo Utah near Utah Lake. This farm is in an ecologically sensitive area close to the Provo River Delta Restoration Project and faces high development risk without a conservation easement. Cascade Farms provides public benefits along the Provo River Trail for community members to enjoy the natural landscape while walking jogging or biking. UALT is progressing in preserving Cascade Farms with the NRCS committing to funding part of the conservation easement. The Organization is collaborating with partners and donors to secure the remaining funds needed to safeguard this crucial agricultural land. UALT has received a $2,940,000 grant from the NRCS under the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program - Agricultural Land Easements ACEPALE program. UALT has been awarded a grant in the amount of $350,000 administered by the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food. The purpose of the grant is to support the acquisition of a conservation easement for Cascade Farms ensuring the land is preserved as a working farm or ranch. Per ASC 958-605 these grants are conditional pending specific donor-imposed conditions for revenue recognition.”
